[edit] Exclusion of Piper Precision Products

Some of the guns from Piper Precision can be said to be classic airsoft guns. They are powered by gas and they resemble real guns. Piper Precsion started producing 6mm airguns after the advent of AEG's but so has Escort, Digicon and Tanaka which are included on the list. Piper Precision should be included.

Actually, Escort made guns long before the advent of AEGs, as did Tanaka. We explained this in our topic on classicairsoft.net

He can't view said topic, hes banned.

Anyway, if you do your research....

The first Tanaka was released in 1987, it was the Python Series The first Digicon was released in 1990, it was the M92f Series

The first Escort gun was made in 1992, the AR18 (This is documented in several magazines) The final gun released by JAC was the Electric AUG in 1994-1995 Sun Project and Youth Engineering were anounced in teh 1994-1996 era

The only company that is a real stretch is Shoei, however they can be considered grandfathered in due to the system used.

In the last part of the "End of Classic Airsoft" section it says that guns are now made with agreements from companies like H&K and Colt, but neither of these companies currently give approval for airsoft replicas. H&K has said many times that they will never license any airsoft replicas, and Colt use to allow Tokyo Marui to use their trademarks legally but then started to want way more money when they found out how popular the guns were. I changed it to say ArmaLite and Olympic Arms, which DO both authorize replicas (through Classic Army and ICS, respectively).

[edit] Improvement

I stumbled across this article, and was left wondering what exactly it was about. It would be helpful to make it clearer in the opening paragraph what "airsoft" is. - JasonAQuest (talk) 01:59, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
