[edit] Etymology of Clackamas

Can someone cite a source for the etymology underlying the word clackamas? It was my understanding that Clackamas came from Clack and Camas. The first part, clack, is cognate with the first part of Klickitat (klick) as well as the first part of Clatskanie, and the first part of Klamath (from klack + math). Camas, on the other hand, is related to camas. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.177.27.17 (talk) 01:23, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
