Clayton Valley High School (CVHS) is a secondary school located in Concord, California. and just under two miles from Clayton. It is part of the Mount Diablo Unified School District. Most of the students live in Clayton and the nearby Concord neighborhoods with some coming from Pittsburg. It is the location of the local radio station 90.5 "The Edge" KVHS, which broadcasts mostly hard rock. Its newspaper is The Talon, which is part of the High School National Ad Network. The current principal is Gary Swanson.

The Leadership Advisor is Social Studies teacher Margaret Ljepava.

As of the 07-08 school year Clayton Valley's Journalism classes and award-winning Talon newspaper is advised by Hosay Jamili. The Editor in Chief is Junior Tyler Klock.

The ClaytonArts Academy, a smaller learning community within the school, boasts an excellent track record of academics and the arts. Students in the Academy learn through project-based curriculum and may specialize in such fields as drama, fine art, photography, and video production. The current coordinator is Jeff Hagerstrand.
The Academy, the band and choir programs, and the drama and art departments are working with the local fundraising group Clayton Theatre Quest to raise money to build a visual and performing arts center on the Clayton Valley High School campus. www.claytontheatrequest.org.
The Instrumental and Choral music department boasts successful performances, including awards for choir and band at the Heritage Festival in Seattle, for orchestra at the Fiesta-Val in Williamsburg, and for choir at the Heritage Festival in Boston. The Marching Band was the 1998 Western States Marching Band Circuit Champion in class A-90. The marching band has continued to earn regional recognition with wins at the Lincoln Review of Champions, Vintage Reserve Field Show, and the Lodi Grape Bowl Classic. Classes include Women's Ensemble, Concert Choir, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic and Concert Bands, Jazz Ensemble, Orchestra, and Marching Band.

Clayton Valley has an annual academic contest, which is called Brain Bowl. Teams of four, composed of students or teachers, compete against each other. This year's student team winner was the Know-Nothings.
