Clay Carlin (1989-2007)is a fictional character on the television series South of Nowhere.
Clay, played by Danso Gordon, was fatally shot in a a drive by shooting during the season two finale. Clay was declared dead in season three opening episode. Clay attended King High School along with his adoptive brother and sister Spencer Carlin, Glen Carlin and his pregnant girlfriend Chelsea Lewis.

[edit] Moving In With An All White Family
After Clay was put on for adoption, The Carlin family decided to adopt Clay. After leaving their hometown to move to Los Angeles, Clay dealt with being different.
[edit] In Search Of His Birthmother
Clay is desperate to find his birthmother, and Clay finally does. He discovers that his birthmother put Clay up for adoption so he could have a better life.
[edit] Relationship With Chelsea
After being first introduced to Chelsea, Clay began to fall for her. The two became really good friends and the two decided that they can change their friendship into a relationship. He decides after being with Chelsea that he wants to lose his virginity to her.

Clay becomes really good friends with Sean Miller (South of Nowhere). The two guys spend a lot of time together and have a really good friendship.

While working on a term paper, Clay discovers that his teacher made a racial comment on the assignment. Clay tells Sean about the incident and Clay tries to deal.

[edit] Clay's Birthmother Moves To Town
After discovering Clay is moving to Los Angeles, the two form an interesting friendship. Clay discovers that his mother wants to be more involved in Clay's life and Clay is happy about that.

After sleeping with Chelsea, Chelsea reveals to Clay that she is pregnant. Clay is very shocked over her pregnancy, though Clay plans on fully supporting her through the pregnancy. After Chelsea's parents don't accept her pregnancy and kick her out, The Carlin's decide to take care of Chelsea, Clay and the baby.

Though Chelsea decided to keep the baby, Clay and Chelsea worry over their future. There were many times where Clay was afraid that he would lose Chelsea, but that didn't happen. The two decide to put their worries aside as Prom begins coming.

As the two leave the Prom with Spencer, Aiden, and the others, a drive by shooting occurs. Clay along with Aiden and several other teens get shot. Clay ended up dying as well as 3 others, although Aiden survives his wound to the heart.
