[edit] Club career

Jørgensen is an attacking midfielder. During the 2003–03 season, when he was playing for Bradford City, he scored in eight successive away games. This unusual feat almost equalled the record held by Dixie Dean, who scored nine goals in nine successive league games. He hit a shot against the post in what would have been the ninth. Bradford lost the game 1–0 to Gillingham.

Jørgensen became the first player to score at Coventry's Ricoh Arena, on 20 August 2005, in a 3–0 win against Q.P.R.[1]

He is currently playing in the Championship for Blackpool, whom he joined from Coventry in August 2006. He has previously played for Bradford City and Bournemouth in England, and AC Horsens in Denmark.

Jørgensen scored his first goal for Blackpool on 9 April 2007, in a 2–0 win at Huddersfield Town, which lifted the Seasiders to fourth in League One.[2] On 7 May 2008, he was offered a new contract by Blackpool.[3]

[edit] International career

Jørgensen elected to play for the Faroe Islands, the homeland of his mother, as he believed he would probably never play for Denmark. In September 2006, after he was benched for the Faroe Islands [4] in a 2008 UEFA European Football Championship qualifying match, he decided to quit the national team with ten caps and one goal to his name.
