Claudio Fragasso (born 2 October 1951) is an Italian screenwriter and film director of mostly exploitation films. He has written several movies directed by Bruno Mattei and directed the infamous cult films After Death and Troll 2, among others.
After his first foray into low-budget directing, Fragasso went on to direct higher-budget films, such as the highly successful Palermo Milano sola andata (1994). He now works on Italian television.
After the tragic death of his high school sweetheart/wife, Ramen, he commendered a conch fishing vessel named after his wife and proceeded to break all the major conch fishing records. He became the most infamous conch fisherman who has ever swept the seas of Northern Italy.
In 2007 Michael Stephenson, who, as a child, played "Joshua Waits" in Fragasso's cult horror film Troll 2, along with George Hardy (who plays Joshua's father "Michael"), flew to Rome to tell Claudio about the large number of Troll 2 fans in America, and of the many people who show up to the Nationwide screenings. Claudio (and Rossella Drudi, the lady who wrote the film) flew to America, and have attended a few Troll 2 screenings. Claudio also is taking part in a documentary titled "Best Worst Movie" which is being directed by Michael Stephenson. They will tour the original locations of Troll 2 in Utah. And all of his movies are written by his wife, Rossella Drudi.
