[edit] Biography

Born May 10, 1990 in the city of Toronto, Canada , Claudia began her musical training at the age of five by taking piano lessons. After dropping the instrument for several years, she found a new teacher and began taking lessons again studying and learning Royal Conservatory music along with other various pieces.

It was not until high school that Claudia began listening to heavier music with keyboards such as Children of Bodom, Symphony X, Dream Theater, Dimmu Borgir etc. and decided to take the instrument more seriously. She was then recruited to local melodic death-metal band Nocturnity by Sam Kasman.

Keyboardists who have influenced Claudia include Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater), Michael Pinella (Symphony X), and Janne Warmen (Children of Bodom).

[edit] Musical career

In 2006, Claudia traveled again to Banff, Alberta to participate in the Rocky Mountain Music Festival with the Wilson Jazz ensemble, under the direction of Amy Peck. Wilson Jazz performed exquisitely and earned a gold medal. In 2007, Claudia traveled again with the Wilson Jazz band to Montreal to perform at the renowned Hard Rock Café. Claudia, along with Wilson Jazz, has also participated in the Southern Ontario Jazz Band Festival, bringing home the gold medal for the past three years in a row.

In late 2006, Claudia was recruited to Nocturnity by guitarist/vocalist Sam Kasman. After slightly less than one year of practicing, Nocturnity performed their debut show on July 15th, and began recording their first EP in October of 2007.
