Claude Breeze

Claude Herbert Breeze (b. 1938) is a Canadian artist and Professor Emeritus at York University in Toronto, Canada. He is also sometimes known as C. Herbert.

Breeze has exhibited his paintings in numerous solo and group shows around the world. His work is found in public, corporate and private collections, including Canada's National Gallery. Among his works are several pieces of public art, including the 300 foot ceramic tile mural in the Spadina subway station in Toronto.

Breeze is a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts. He was awarded the Queen’s Jubilee Medal in recognition of his work and his contributions to the visual arts in Canada.

Breeze's paintings typically portray television news and the disjunction between the reality and the viewer.
