[edit] Schools
Clarksville ISD operates four campuses, including Clarksville High School (grades 9-12), Cheatham Middle School (grades 6-8), Clarksville Elementary School (grades K-5), and the Vocational School/DAEP.
[edit] 2006-07 Administration
Pam Bryant serves as Superintendent of Schools. After nearly 30 years of service to Clarksville ISD in various capacities such as teacher, principal, special programs director, and assistant superintendent, Bryant was named CEO for the District in 2007. Assistant Superintendent is Charlie Martin.
[edit] Accountability
During the 2006-2007 academic year, the high school campus was the only campus in the District with a failing score from the state. However, the Summer of 2007 brought news that the elementary campus had joined the ranks as well, triggering the District, as a whole, to receive a state rating of Academically Unacceptable from the Texas Education Agency. Unacceptable is the worst possible rating given by the state. Any school or district not meeting all of the criteria for Acceptable will be rated thus. A district with two consecutive Unacceptable ratings can be closed by TEA (as was the case with the now-defunct Wilmer-Hutchins Independent School District and the Mirando City Independent School District).
