[edit] Character History

Clarisse is one of the children of Ares. She is hot-tempered, arrogant, big, and strong. She is also known as a bully in the Camp Half-Blood. Clarisse is a well trained camper, which can be a bad thing depending on whose side she's on, and shows mastery at using her favorite weapon, an electrical spear that was given to her by her father; which Percy manages to break. In the second book, she brings the Golden Fleece back to Camp Half Blood, with help from Percy and his friends, to heal Thalia's tree. She believes that all problems are solved by blowing them up; as shown when confronting Charybdis, the whirlpool monster. She is stubborn and has a deep dislike of Percy, because that he managed to humiliate her on all of her attempts to bully him when they first met in The Lightning Thief. It was also in that book that Ares established a grudge against Percy and so Clarisse feels she must hate Percy as well out of loyalty to her father. Clarisse does her best to continue disliking Percy, even in the face of all his selfless acts toward her. But her loyalty and desire to please her father seems wasted as he is harsh toward her. In book two, The Sea of Monsters, while talking to Clarisse via an Iris message, Ares taunted and mocked her and proceeded to degrade her by saying she was not as good as her brothers.

Clarise is absent during the third book, and a member of the Ares cabin tells Percy that she is away on a secret scouting mission for Chiron, but has not been heard from and he considers her M.I.A. What this mission comprised of is revealed in Battle of the Labyrinth, but it was apparently very difficult, as when she returned she was mildly scruffed-up and "didn't even try to pulverize [Percy]." She said she had bad news, which is that Luke is trying to get into camp through the Labyrinth.

Clarisse was also featured in Percy Jackson and The Stolen Chariot short story. [1]

Clarisse is the head of the Ares cabin. It is revealed in the Stolen Chariot story that she has immortal brothers named Phobos and Deimos. Clarisse and Percy have officially become friends as of the Stolen Chariot, but plan to not tell anyone. Anybody would think that camp enemies would never be friends.

In The Battle of the Labyrinth, its revealed that Clarrise's scouting mission involved her watching over one of the entrances to the Labyrinth near her mother's house in Phoenix, Arizona. She finds a fellow half-blood, Chris Rodriguez, who was driven to insanity by Minos. She takes him back to Camp Half-Blood and tries to nurse him back to health and cries often because of position, which shows she has strong feelings for him. Mr. D is able to reverse the insanity and the two of her seen together, happy and holding hands at the camp fire while singing.

[edit] Power/Abilities

  • Like other half-bloods, Clarisse has ADHD, which is supposed to make half-bloods more aware in battles.
  • Clarisse is also trained in hand to hand combat during her stays at Half Blood Camp.
  • She is very strong and swift(as of,not getting hit by Polyphemus in the second book and still doesn't get injured).
