Clarion University of Pennsylvania is an accredited university located on a 100 acre campus in Clarion, Pennsylvania, and one of fourteen universities of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE). Clarion University was founded in 1867 and offers associate's, bachelor's, master's and post master's certificates.[1] Currently the university undergoing major constructional changes that will allow for further growth and development.[citation needed]

As of 2008, Clarion university's student body totaled 6,591 students, of which 5,927 were undergraduates and 1,299 of those were freshmen. The university's students are mostly female (61%). 96% of students come from the state of Pennsylvania while the remaining 4% come from 37 other states and 27 other countries.[1]

The University maintains a regional campus, Venango Campus in Oil City, and a site in Pittsburgh at West Penn Hospital. Clarion also offers an extended studies program featuring online courses, remote sites, and various hybrid learning situations.
