Clarence Vaughn (born July 17, 1964 in Chicago, Illinois) is a former American football safety in the National Football League for the Washington Redskins.

Vaughn played high school football at Gage Park in Chicago where he played quarterback, running back, linebacker, and tight end.[citation needed]

Vaughn played college football at Northern Illinois University where he was given a four-year football scholarship. The NIU Huskies won the California Bowl III against Fresno State.

[edit] NFL Career

Vaughn was drafted in the eighth round of the 1987 NFL Draft (219th pick overall) by the Washington Redskins. In his first NFL start against the Arizona Cardinals, he accomplished 13 solo tackles. Later that year, in a postseason game against the Minnesota Vikings, Vaughn made a critical play where he sacked Vikings quarterback Wade Wilson. They then went on to win Super Bowl XXII against the Denver Broncos. He went on to win his second Super Bowl in 1992 against the Buffalo Bills, Super Bowl XXVI.

Vaughn is a software developer and is in his second year of coaching football and is currently the linebacker coach for Rampart High school. Vaughn is the third Super Bowl vet ever to coach high school in Colorado (John Elway with Cherry Creek and Louis Wright with Rangeview are the other two).
