Clarence Oneil Bradford, better known as C.O. "Brad" Bradford, is a former police chief of Houston, Texas and a current Democratic Party candidate for District Attorney of Harris County, Texas.
While Chief of Police for the Houston Police Department, Clarence Bradford was the subject of several scandals, including corruption allegations, and serious mismanagement issues with the police crime lab and property room. The only sitting Houston Police Chief in recent memory to be accused of public corruption, Bradford was indicted in Harris County, Texas on a felony criminal charge for Aggravated Perjury. He was later acquitted during trial. Bradford returned to his post at the Houston Police Department briefly, but resigned soon thereafter when it was discovered he was involved in a scheme to boost his own pension, without the knowledge or approval of the Houston City Council.
