Clarecastle has been the home to many greats in the county Clare hurling. These include Anthony Daly, former captain, and former captain and manager of Clare ; the Sheedy brothers, Martin and Stephen ; Alan Neville ; Kenny Morrisey ; Ken Ralph ; Victor, Ger, and Fergie O'Loughlin, Sean Talty and 2008 Clare selector Fergie Tuohy. Current high profile players include Jonathan Clancy and Conor Plunkett.
