Clare McDonnell

Clare McDonnell (born 1967) is a radio broadcaster and presenter.

Clare began as a reporter in local radio in England, and from there moved on to be a radio presenter.

For several years, she presented the Breakfast Show on BBC GLR Radio, and many shows on national radio, such as the "Trade Update" series on BBC Radio 1, and "Global" on BBC Radio Five Live, also working on the Nicky Campbell Show on Five Live as the Euro News presenter.

Clare has been a television presenter on Liquid News, an entertainment news show on BBC One and BBC Three.

She presents the weekend overnight music show and the Gig Guide on BBC 6 Music.

Clare is a Sony Radio Academy Awards winning broadcaster, and is married to musician Paul Simmonds of the band The Men They Couldn't Hang.

Clare was on maternity leave in May 2007 and returned in September 2007. Her 6Music show was covered by comedienne Jen Brister. Clare announced she had given birth to a baby girl called Grace.
