(The station was authorized by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) to move to 103.5 MHz and increase its power to 17,000 watts as a class B station, [1] but the move was never implemented.)

The station has an adult contemporary music format and identifies itself as "COOL FM 103.3".

CKRB went on the air on July 22, 1952 [2] as an AM station broadcasting on 1460 kHz; at the time the station only had a power of 250 watts. The station would later increase its power to 10,000 watts (daytime) and 5,000 watts (nighttime). By 1985, CKRB had converted its transmitter to AM stereo. [3] The station moved to FM on March 29, 1999. [4]
