Corrections.com [1] is an online community that consolidates the widely unknown and often misunderstood world of prisons and jails and promotes pride, collaboration and learning among the vigilant men and women who secure the walls of our more than 4000 prisons worldwide.

Corrections.com first appeared online in 1996 at a time when many people did not intuitively consider Corrections to be a part of the criminal justice system. In the last 12 years, Corrections.com has worked to change that perception.

The site is filled with stories and best practices by and for wardens, jail administrators, commissioners, corrections officers, educators and health professionals at county, state and federal facilities. It is widely used by academicians, legislators, criminal justice students, historians and the increasingly curious public who contribute to the living history of this proud industry. Corrections.com is also home to more than thirty professional corrections associations including the North American Association of Wardens [NAAWS] at http://www.corrections.com/naaws.

In 2008, Corrections.com introduced the phrase “Where criminal justice never sleeps’ to pay tribute to the highly perceptive, self-disciplined and innovative men and women who work around the clock to maintain the public safety both behind the walls and upon reentry of offenders back into their communities.
