Template:Cite 34TGA
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Flint, and Dennis. The Galileo Affair, page cited missing (of 549).
- Usage
This template fills in the blanks in {{Cite book}} and uses the same field names with a few exceptions.
- Specifying a 'default' field name (e.g. isbn) will override the default, which in this case, is the isbn for the 1st ed. hardcover.
- If that is used to cite the ebook or the paperback, then edition must also be changed.
- Similarly, date would need changed when citing either, but not origdate, which is correct.
- Specify long=yes or l=true (|l=1 will do it) the first time the template is used on a page to toggle the long output form. Subsequent cites will be briefer.
- the output needs nested in standard
<ref>{cite book| ... }}</ref>
manner, at least until release 1.4 allows embedding ref blocks inside templates.
Optional (Non-standard named) fields are: pp= (alternative for pages=) q= (alternative for quote=) ch= (alternative for chapter) long= or l= (define TRUE (anything) to display full book cite format, when FALSE, gives abbreviated list above.)
