[edit] Population?
The introduction states that the 2001 census has the population of the Melbourne CC at 46,000, yet the info box on the right has it for the 2001 census at 60,745. Which is correct?Mdgr 03:19, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
- This is the set of information from ABS that should be used. It shows a total count of 67,784, minus 7,039 overseas visitors. That makes an official population of 60,745. So, the infobox is correct. JohnnoShadbolt 03:30, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Lists
Why do the lists (for example the school lists) include institutions not in the city of Melbourne...am I missing something about this?
[edit] Local government history
Could somebody from Oz put something in the History section to explain how and why the local elected officials were twice replaced for a while by appointed commissioners? The city's own page [1] is damned coy about how and why the State did this. --Orange Mike 19:28, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
