[edit] Description

The game is a sidescrolling platformer where the player controls a police officer in the future who over a series of levels turns into the cyborg ESWAT. As a member of the Cyber Police force in the city of Liberty, your job is to clear the streets of crime, terminate the most wanted criminals and put them behind bars. In the first and second levels of the game, the player can only utilize a single shot weapon. After getting the power armor after the third level, the player can use Super Shot, Plasma Rifle, Rockets, and a Fire Attack. ESWAT also could use a jet pack with limited fuel that replenishes over time.

[edit] Master System Version

E-SWAT was also ported to the Master System, but due to the console's limitations, it was a completely different and scaled down game compared to the Arcade and Mega Drive versions and received poor reviews. Some consider it one of the worst games of Master System.

[edit] Alternate Titles

  • "E-SWAT: City Under Siege" - Alternate Title
  • "Elite Special Weapons And Tactics" - Spectrum In-game Title

[edit] Next Gen Ports

A Virtual Console version for the Wii was released in August 2007 in Japan. An Xbox Live Arcade version for the Xbox 360 was announced with no release date on September 13, 2007.[1]
