Citywest (Irish: Iarthar na Cathrach ) is an area at the south-western edge of Tallaght originally built as a business park on a greenfield site in the early 1990s. It is situated in the county of South Dublin. An increasing residential population has also developed over the past number of years, and as of 13 September 2007, a shopping centre has also been opened, the first retail facility in the area. A spur from the Luas red line is to be constructed which will run through the southern end of Citywest as far as Saggart. As of 2007, the expected completion date is 2010.
