The City of Bayswater is a Local Government Area in the inner northeastern suburbs of the Western Australian capital city of Perth, about 9 kilometres (6 mi) northeast of Perth's central business district. The City covers an area of 32.8 square kilometres (12.7 sq mi) and has a population of 55,801 (2006).

Bayswater Road Board was gazetted in 1897. On 1 July 1961, it became a Shire Council following changes to the Local Government Act. On 29 October 1983 it attained City status.[1]
The city has been divided into 4 wards. The mayor is elected from among the councillors.

- North Ward (3 councillors)
- South Ward (2 councillors)
- West Ward (3 councillors)
