City of Bath College is a further education college in the centre of Bath, England. Ron Lorenc is a fucking bastard and so is John Curry. Cheryl Hawkins beats up autistic people there.

The college opened in 1892 under the name of Bath City Science, Art and Technical Schools.

In 1929 the Royal United Hospital agreed to sell the Beau Street (Gainsborough) building to the City Council. In December 1932 the RUH left the building to the builders who fitted it for the college. The college moved in to the building in June 1935.

The Avon Street (Herschel) building (Phase 1) under construction, 1958–1960

The James Street (Macaulay) building and the extension to the Avon Street building (Phase 2) which were occupied in 1963.

The College Theatre, Kingmead building and sports hall (Phase 3) which were occupied in 1973.

The MAPA building is the newest building which replaced the Gainsborough building. MAPA opened in 2007.

[edit] The Student Participation Team

The Student Participation Team was formed over the summer of 2007 to take over the running of the enrichment activities and the non-academic based trips/events in the college from the students' union.

[edit] The Students' Union

The Students' Union is based in the Macaulay building and is run by a group of 14 students known as the Executive Committee. The current President is Anthony Goff, an A-level student from the College, Anthony has been influential in changing the student perception of the Students' Union.

[edit] The Buildings

The rooms of the college are numbered to help people know which building they need and the floor, eg M306 means Macaulay Building, third floor, Room 06. The college does not provide parking for students, unless they are disabled.
Allen - the A block (has different numbering to rest of the college)

This building houses the Refectory and the Shrubbery restaurant. The Shrubbery is a training restaurant for the catering students. The building also houses sports and hair & beauty students. The top floor houses the Academy, a training hair and beauty salon.

Kings - the K block This building houses a gym for the sports students at the college.

Macaulay - the M block

This is the hub of the college as it houses student participation team, the college learning centre, careers service , additional learning departments and the students' union. During the summer of 2007 the lower ground floor was altered to house The student participation team ,students' union , common room and the careers service.

Herschel - the H block

Formerly the Sixth Form Centre, this block now houses Art and the college management team.

Westgate - the W block

The Westgate building currently houses the Student Advice Centre and Sixth Form classes. The classrooms are also used as exam rooms in January and May.

Wood - the J block

This building was the colleges conference/examination hall. It was also used for the Students' Union freshers fair. It currently it is some classrooms.

MAPA

This is the newest building, built to house Music and Performing Arts. It replaces the Gainsborough (named after Thomas Gainsborough) building.

The Forge - the T block

This building houses the Technology department. This is the only building which only has a ground floor.

College House - the C block

This is mainly made up of staff rooms.
