Music sample:
The lyrics of "City Love" chronicle a singer's relationship with a woman named Lydia, who he met in New York City ("this apple"). It makes allusions to many of the things associated with the city: intercoms to buildings, Battery Park, sirens and taxi cabs.
According to the Any Given Thursday DVD extras, Mayer's song "Covered in Rain" is the sequel to this song.
