City Furniture was originally founded in 1971 as a single store named Waterbed City (which was founded in Fort Lauderdale, Florida). Ultimately, City Furniture has grown to become one of the strongest furniture providers in all of South Florida. The companies founders were Kevin Koenig and Keith Koenig.[1]
In September of 1974, Waterbed City evolved into City Furniture. This involved expanding the product line to include living and dining room furniture, wall units, home theatre, and ready-to-assemble furniture. This change created a new philosophy to combine quality brand-name home furnishings with lower prices. They also had a strong commitment to great customer service. As of today, City Furniture continues to grow and develop into one of the largest furniture providers in the United States.
