City Bell is a small town located in the partido of La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is located some 60 kilometers from Buenos Aires and 10 from La Plata. It forms part of the Greater La Plata urban agglomeration.
City Bell was founded around 1900 by English immigrants. Its name comes from its founder George Bell. In July, 1913, Jorge Bell's heirs sold to Sociedad Anónima de City Bell approximately 3 square kilometres of their grounds that were planned to be sold to people in the hope of founding a new town. As the project did not go on as planned, the grounds were used up to some extent for farming. Finally, a small group of people settled down, and as the town started to grow larger, the need for a train station grew clearer.
