Cittareale is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Rieti in the Italian region Latium. It is located about 100 km northeast of Rome and 35 km northeast of Rieti. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 460 and an area of 58.8 km².[1]

Cittareale borders the following municipalities: Accumoli, Amatrice, Borbona, Cascia, Leonessa, Montereale, Norcia, Posta.
