Founded by denim visionary, Jerome Dahan, Citizens of Humanity designs and globally distributes seasonal denim and fashion collections for women and men, including a women’s knit collection. After launching the most successful fits and having driven the denim industry innovation for the world’s most notable denim brands, Dahan set his sights on creating a brand that would change the way denim looks, fits, and feels. As a result, Citizens of Humanity was born. Notable fans of Citizens of Humanity include Cameron Diaz, Eva Mendez, Jennifer Garner, Natalie Portman, Rachel Bilson, Penélope Cruz, Cindy Crawford, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Keanu Reeves, and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Jerome Dahan was born and raised in Paris, France. He designed his first denim collection, just after high school, which launched his career in the clothing business. His path eventually led him to Los Angeles, the denim capital of the world. Among other notable positions, Dahan was the head of design for Lucky Brand and one of the co-founders of 7 For All Mankind. In 2003, Dahan launched Citizens of Humanity.

Citizens of Humanity is featured in boutiques and department stores across the United States and in Canada. Internationally, Citizens is sold in over 35 countries, including the UK, Germany, Italy, France, Belgium, Russia, Spain, Scandinavia, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia.

In 2006, Berkshire Partners, a leading private equity firm based in Boston, Massachusetts, acquired equity in Citizens of Humanity. In September of 2007, Citizens of Humanity named denim visionary, Adriano Goldschmied, as a partner and acquired the GoldSign denim label. The company headquarters is in Huntington Park, California.
