Citation Handicap
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Citation Handicap is a race for thoroughbred horses usually set at a distance of one and one-sixteenth miles on the turf for horses three-years-old and up. The race is held annually at Hollywood Park Racetrack, but was not run in 2005 because of a hiatus on grass racing at Hollywood.
The Citation was recently upgraded to a Grade I turf event from a Grade II and offers a purse of $400,000. It is now set at one and a half miles.
2008 will see the 33nd running of the Citation Handicap which is named in honor of the legendary racehorse Citation.
