Cisco 837

Cisco 837 is a router manufactured by Cisco Systems intended forSOHO network use. The device is typically used an internet router via its ADSL WAN port. It has an integrated 4-port Ethernet 10/100Mbps switch for local device connectivity.

The Cisco 837 runs Cisco IOS and supports firewall, NAT(Network address translation) / PAT (Port address translation). The device also supports the use of multiple public IP addresses on its external WAN port.

The device is also capable of acting as an IPSEC VPN gateway for remote connectivty. Cisco Systems provide a VPN client to use with this device and many other of its Cisco VPN capable products. The 837 differs from the 827 as it features hardware acceleration of 3des encryption, enhancing VPN performance.

This router is now EOL (End of Life) and is no longer supplied by Cisco.
