[edit] History
The Circle has existed since the time when man was still little more than savage barbarians, although the Circle as an organization was founded following the defeat of the Molgur tribes. The members of the circle are often viewed as servants of the Devourer Wurm, known to the members of the circle as Orboros, although this couldn't be further from the truth. The members of the circle believe that the Devourer Wurm, the consiousnes of Orboros, is fighting Menoth on a higher plane of existence, and that, should the Devourer ever win this battle, it will return to Caen to wreak havoc on the mortal races.
Thus, the Circle Orboros walk a dangerous tightrope, gearing all of their efforts towards making sure that civilization does not spread too far. The reason for this is because they believe that if too much of nature is swept aside, the Devourer will lose strength in its fight with Menoth, and will thus be forced to return to destroy civilization on Caen and all of its inhabitants, regaining its strength. At the same time, the circle must make sure that civilization does not disappear. For if it does, Orboros will destroy Menoth and return to Caen anyway.
[edit] Recent History
Recently, the Circle has become increasingly active, following the reemergence of Everblight, and has begun to launch attacks upon the blighted Nyss serving the dragon, hoping to destroy its powerbase. When Everblight's forces attacked the Castle of the Keys in order to kill Pyromalfic, a large number of Circle warriors, led by Morvahna the Autumnblade, tried to ambush the dragons troops, hoping to kill Thagrosh Hellborne. Although their initial attempt on the blighted Ogruns life failed, they are continually harassing Everblight's army as it makes its way back north.
The efforts to destroy Everblight are not participated in by all members of the Circle, however. Krueger the Stormwrath and Kromac the Ravenous have been launching a violent campaign of destruction against the nations of western Immoren, most noticeably massacring a Cygnaran garrison at Bloodsmeath, just south of Northguard, a large number of vicious battles against Cryxian forces in the Sharde Islands, battling the Khadoran 3rd Army within the Blackwood, and fighting against Protectorate forces southeast of the Marchfells.
[edit] Historic Figures
Omnipotent Ergonus - Omnipotent of the Circle until 606 AR, when he was killed in battle against Madrak Ironhide and Hoarluk Doomshaper. The only person whom Krueger the Stormwrath respected.

Zevanna Agha – A legendary figure in Khardic folklore, the ‘Old Witch of Khador’ has allegedly played an important role in Khador’s history for untold generations, even prior to the formation of the Iron Kingdom’s themselves, centuries ago. She appears when she wills it, and walks wherever she cares, but none doubt that, whatever purpose she seeks to further, that she acts in the interests of the Motherland. She was once a member and ally of the Circle, but ultimately betrayed them for her own, incalculable reasons.
Lich Lord Aspyxhious - A mighty lich of Cryx, Aspyxhious was once a member of the Circle leading a cabal stationed at the Scharde Islands. When Toruk came to the island, the treacherous druid cast of his oaths of loyalty and swore allegiance to the emerging Cryxian empire.

[edit] Playstyle
The Circle is a fast and tricky faction of powerful spellcasters, with several teleportation abilities that let you deliver powerful units into the midst of enemy forces, or quickly reposition your army. They also have several powerful terrain manipulation abilities, and other abilities which take advantage of terrain. They are renowned for being able to pull off wins via assassination of key characters even after taking heavy losses.
