[edit] History
For a period of eight years from 1992 until August 2000, Zachary Stevens was the lead singer of Savatage.[2] After four albums with the group, he left in 2000 citing family reasons.[3] During the winter of 2002/2003 Zak started his comeback, co-writing (with former Savatage lead singer Jon Oliva and guitarist Chris Caffery) the songs for the Circle II Circle debut Watching in Silence.[4]
The album was well received by hard rock and heavy metal audiences, garnering high placings in many "Best Newcomer Act" polls.
Due to disagreements between band members and Zak and producer/manager Dan Campbell, all the band members quit after the Watching in Silence album.[5] They were quickly recruited by Jon Oliva to form his band Jon Oliva's Pain.
The second CIIC record The Middle of Nowhere featured Zak's vocals along with band members Paul Michael Stewart, Andy Lee, Tom Drennan and Evan Christopher.[6] This album, too, was well received with many polls in 2005 placing it as the best hard rock or heavy metal album.
The band's third release is a concept album, entitled Burden of Truth, based around the concept of Jesus' descendants.[7][8] It was released on October 13, 2006.[9]
On July 12, 2007, Dan Campbell/Global Artists was released as the band's management. Recently, Stevens and the band signed with Intromental Management.[10] Their fourth album, entitled Delusions of Grandeur is set to be released on April 25, 2008.
