Editing Guidelines |
Please remember these guidelines when editing a film article:
- If a non-film article already exists with the name of the film that you are trying to create an article for, disambiguate and use (film) in the title: Film Title (film)
- When writing an article about a particular film, the general format should be a concise lead section, followed by a plot summary of no more than 900 words, production details, a cast list, a reception section, and references.
- Create an Infobox that tells all pertinent information about the film.

I see that admin Bearcat has removed this template from individual film articles, most or all of which were added by me, I must admit, thinking this was what we were supposed to be doing. What are the guidelines for correctly using this? Shawn in Montreal (talk) 01:24, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
- Lists, categories, Cinema of Canada, subpages such as Cinema of Quebec, key events such as the Genie Awards, the Jutra Awards or the Toronto International Film Festival, National Film Board...we could also probably get away with sticking it on film studios such as Alliance Atlantis or Lions Gate. But individual films and individual people is a bit overboard. Bearcat (talk) 17:08, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
- Makes sense. Will do, Shawn in Montreal (talk) 17:13, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
