[edit] Good content, but...

There is a lot of good content here, but it is really overwritten and overwrought. "Came into being as an affective reality?": what on earth? "this enthusiasm was reinforced by many, many monetary illusions": I assume this means nothing more than "…by the incorrect belief that Romanian films could be made profitably". If that's what we mean, let's say so. "The ravages of time have left their mark upon Romanian film prints": more so than other countries? Less so? One sure can't tell from reading this. "The activities of those wonderful cameramen of the period are praiseworthy": perhaps, but how could we be more POV? Etc. I could probably cite dozens of more examples, but I will spare everyone.

Biruitorul: I don't want to find myself in the position of going in and killing all of your little darlings. Would you be interested in going in yourself and turning this into less of an essay and more of an encyclopedia article? I'm not saying the prose needs to be bland, but this reads like a manifesto. - Jmabel | Talk 23:36, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

Jmabel: as I readily acknowledge here, this article is, shall we say, problematic. If it can wait till the weekend (maybe with a cleanup tag), then I'll gladly smooth things out. If it's more urgent than than, I'm afraid I can't do much before then. Biruitorul 02:00, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

This is actually not Biruitorul's fault. He just translated the RO WIKI article and is clearly aware of the problems and, given time, willing to solve them AdamSmithee 07:58, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
Sure, no rush. Suggestion: in the future, when possible, given that you are equally comfortable in both languages, it might be a good idea to try to fix problems like this in the original before translating, so they end up fixed in both places. (I've done that a few times with Spanish-language articles, but it's a little tough for me because my Spanish, while expressive, is distinctly non-native.) - Jmabel | Talk 18:00, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
In particular, though, could someone just rewrite the lead to be like the start of an encyclopedia article rather than a manifesto? - Jmabel | Talk 04:43, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Afd Leonard Hentiu

An article about a Romanian film director, Leonard Hentiu, has been listed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Leonard Hentiu. Please look there to see why this is, if you are interested in whether it should be deleted. Thank you. --TruthbringerToronto (Talk | contribs) 04:23, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Bollywood

I was told that there was a period (during Communism) when Bollywood films were popular in Romania. --Error 00:49, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
