Cinnamon Carter

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Cinnamon Carter is an agent of the Impossible Missions Force in the Mission: Impossible television series of the 1960s, acted out by actress Barbara Bain. As with Rollin Hand, Carter was written out of the stories after the third season when Bain and Martin Landau, then her husband, resigned in a contract dispute with the producers and the studio.

[edit] Role

Since the Impossible Missions Force effectively operated the way a confidence game would, Carter's role was essentially that of a "roper," who involved the mission target, or "mark," in the IMF con games. More specifically, she was a special type of roper, called a "lure," whose work was essentially that of decoying the mission target.

[edit] After the series

In 1997 Bain appeared as Carter in one installment of Diagnosis Murder, titled "Discards," at the end of which viewers learned that she had been reinstated to active status.
