Cinema Place is a new entertaniment and shopping center coming soon in Downtown Hayward. It will also Hayward's First Movie Theatre in 5 years since Mann's Festival Cinemas Closed in 2003.

The Land was The former home of a Lucky Stores supermarket. The Lucky was bulit in 1978 and closed in November 2001. Before that it was home to Edwin Markham School.
The Lucky was demolished in 2005 to start groundbreaking. Cinema Place will open in May-June 2008.
Today Cinema Place's exterior is *almost complete and the parking garage is already complete.
Note: *All exterior walls and roofs for the Cinema's of Cinema Place are complete, only the exterior structure of the frontal shops and restaurants remain unfinished.
