[edit] Career

[edit] Debut

Cincinnati Red debuted in May of 1993 in an unnamed wrestling organization, under the name of Scott Davis, picking up a victory over another rookie, The Dirtbike Kid.

[edit] Early career

Shortly after his debut, Red picked up the name Blackjack Daniels, based on the tag team, The Blackjacks (Blackjack Mulligan & Blackjack Lanza). He wrestled his first match as Blackjack Daniels against the late Louie Spicolli. In his rookie year, Red had wrestled Spicolli, Sabu, Men on a Mission (Mabel AKA: Big Daddy V & Mo), Mil Mascaras, Sid Vicious & Psicosis and had wrestled in WWF/E and AAA.

[edit] Empire Wrestling Federation

Shortly after settling on the name, Cincinnati Red, he began wrestling for the Bill Anderson & Jesse Hernandez's new promotion, the Empire Wrestling Federation. Red wrestled Brian Rodgers in EWF's first match on their first show on May 5, 1996. He stayed with the Empire Wrestling Federation until early 1998.

[edit] Impact Wrestling Federation

Along with Gary "Krusher" Key, Cincinnati Red opened up The Grappler's Den, a pro wrestling school in the Ventura/Oxnard area. Among the many students in this school was future WWE superstar, Mike Knox. The IWF ran shows in Simi Valley, Oxnard, Ventura and Port Hueneme. The IWF ring and name was sold to Steve Islas in late 1999 and was changed to Impact Zone Wrestling.

[edit] Career Notes

Red worked with the United Independent Wrestling Alliance (UIWA) for 2 years. He was also the Head Trainer at their pro wrestling school, The West Coast Dojo. It was there that TNA wrestler, Samoa Joe, got his start in wrestling. Upon completion of training, Cincinnati Red wrestled Joe many times for over a year, until Joe eventually moved on to UPW. Red wrestled Joe one last time in UPW, a Triple Threat Match between Cincinnati Red, Samoa Joe and Vic Grimes. Samoa Joe won the match. In a highlight of his career, Red defeated the legendary Terry Funk for the ACW Hardcore Championship. Other notable titles held include the MPW Heavyweight Championship (defeated Little Guido AKA: Nunzio for the vacant title) and the PWA Hardcore Championship (defeated Tonga Kid). Red continued wrestling in independent wrestling promotions until his last match in 2006.
