CIGY-FM is a radio station serving Calgary, Alberta. CIGY-FM began testing on February 19, 2008. The station launched on March 6, 2008 at 10:00am MST.
The station calls itself 97-7 Calgary FM, and plays a mix of music from country, rock, and pop artists, with a focus on music of an acoustic nature. The first song played was Who Says You Can't Go Home by Jon Bon Jovi and Jennifer Nettles.
The 97.5 FM frequency, adjacent to the new 97.7 FM, was originally occupied by CIRI-FM. CIRI, a traffic advisory station owned by the city of Calgary, moved to 106.5 FM in early 2008 after CIGY was licensed on the adjacent frequency.
