Ciarán Power

Ciarán Power (born May 8, 1976 in Waterford, Ireland) is a professional cyclist. He is currently a member of the Irish Pezula Racing Team. Power turned professional in 2000 with the (now defunct) Linda McCartney Racing Team and rode in the 2000 Giro d'Italia, placing in the top ten in two stages. He was the first Irish cyclist to compete in a major tour since Stephen Roche in 1993. When Linda McCartney team folded in 2001, Power joined the French St. Quentin team before moving to the US the following season and joining Navigators and since then has concentrated mainly on the US cicuit.

After placing 3rd in the 1999 World 'B' Road Race championship, Power earned Ireland one place at the 2000 Summer Olympics and he was selected to ride. In the 2004 Summer Olympics Power was part of the leading break away and eventually finished in thirteenth place.
