[edit] About crime in Transnistria
Hi, what do you know about the crimes from region Transnistria? Bonaparte talk & contribs 19:33, 21 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Thank you Chwyatt!
I would like to thank you and please contribute to the page of Transnistria. You are very good and you will have my full support for this issue. Bonaparte talk & contribs
- I added the valuable information you gave me but it was immediately removed. Maybe you can look at the page Transnistria also to see how can we add again. I've made also the change from "Republic" to region since it is officially recognized as a part of Moldova and no embassay or any state has recognize this region as a "state". [edit] Welcome to the Military history WikiProject!
Hi, and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated quite regularly. You can watch it if you're interested; or, you can add it directly to your user page by including {{WPMILHIST Announcements}} there.
- The project has a monthly newsletter; it will normally be delivered as a link, but several other formats are available.
There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:
- Starting some new articles? Our article structure guidelines outline some things to include.
- Interested in working on a more complete article? The military history peer review and collaboration departments would welcome your help!
- Interested in a particular area of military history? We have a number of task forces that focus on specific nations or periods.
- Want to know how good our articles are? The assessment department is working on rating the quality of every military history article in Wikipedia.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask one of the project coordinators, or any experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Kirill Lokshin 11:26, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Twin Peaks userbox
Hi - noticed you are a Twin Peaks fan. Are you interested in the userbox I have created? (It seems a bit more cryptic and interesting than the existing one). SM247My Talk 00:05, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Please join!
I'm currently trying to get a Dutch military task force started, would you join us? From what I've seen on the Military History of the Netherlands article, you could most certainly provide a (more than) worthy contribution.
If you're interested, and I hope you are, please drop a note at this talk page Cheers, Rex 16:45, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Man is not a thing

[edit] Potential article of interest
Hi, don't know if this article is of interest to the good people of the Sociology Project... Trafficking in human beings
Chwyatt 13:44, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for pointing out this article. I put it in our list of articles. It is ranked mid-level due to being on a specific topic. Top-ranked articles would be the most general topics, such as Social structure. --Reswik 17:09, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] your edits to Human trafficking
You recently expanded the introduction section of the article on human trafficking, and resized the illustration. I think the new intro is much too long. Would you consider moving your new information? Natalie 02:26, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
- That makes a lot of sense. Maybe if we move the photo down to the middle of the article it will look more balanced. But layout has never been my strong suit. Natalie 14:57, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Trafficking in human beings
Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to Trafficking in human beings appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe our core policies. Note that US State Department and Coalition Against Trafficking in Women statistics and views on trafficking have been challenged. The absence of other views in this article makes the article unbalanced. This needs to be noted until corrections can be made to properly balance the article. Note also that attempts to present only the State Department/CATW version of the trafficking issue and especially removal of tags noting this lack of balance constitute clear POV-pushing. Please avoid this – thank you. Iamcuriousblue (talk) 18:28, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
- For the case in question, I agree that Coalition Against Trafficking in Women statistics are open to debate. But they have not been used in that case. Those figures come from the State Department, not from Coalition Against Trafficking in Women.
- I have not seen serious criticism of State Department methodology on trafficking, other than accurate stats are not possible, and both the State Department and the article says that due to trafficking being an illegal activity, reliable data is difficult to come across. The best way to 'balance' is to say “Due to the illegal nature of trafficking and differences in methodology, the exact extent is unknown.” That balances it. Regards. Hi Chwyatt. If you look at my reversions you will see I commented Sorry didn't note qualifier "or made major contributions". It was my mistake. Apologies again! Cheers. --Geronimo20 (talk) 08:48, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] The Real fighting in Afghanistan
I don't think your last modification in the War in Afghanistan was Neutral. The last time a Canadian was killed in "combat", ie in a firefight, was back in Oct 2006. Except for one who died in a mortar attack, all those that have died since, were killed by IEDs, mines, road accidents, friendly fire and self inflicted wounds. Based on that, you chose to put those that are better at driving over IEDs than those who are better at avoiding them but had recent firefight deaths? I think that sorting them in Alphabetical order, or by numerical order as they were was a better idea. Wikipedia must not get involved in political debates.... In what about the French Fighter Bombers, who conducted Air Strikes in support of ground troops yesterday, that is not "fighting" I suppose. Canada does not even have armed aircraft in theatre. The Dutch do. The article is not called "The Ground war" is it? And Australia, which has only a PRT team of a few hundred, and no aircraft, and which has only had four fatalities is, according to you, doing more fighting than France and Germany?

[edit] could probably do with your help
Hi Chwyatt
I've recently been keeping an eye on Orūzgān_Province after spotting some POV bits and pieces, particularly about the Dutch military presence there. The person reverted my (hopefully NPOV) changes to some far more pov. I've fixed it up again, but am sure that it won't last. Any help looking after the page would be appreciated. Cheers! ck (talk) 12:23, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Operation Enduring Freedom
I've undone this edit, as it simply redirected the talk page to itself! This is the page with the edit history, but you've also created another talk page, which is occupying the slot where the old belongs, and to which you've also posted. To make your redirects consistent, you will need to have the new talk page you created deleted, then redirect the old talk page, and somewhere in there reinsert your post. rudra (talk) 17:18, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
- It looks like you wanted to rename the article. If so, you've chosen the wrong way to do it, as you've lost the edit histories in violation of GFDL. rudra (talk) 23:31, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
- I've reverted your redirects and link modifications while admins look into this. rudra (talk) 00:35, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
meta:Help:Moving a page explains the correct procedure (which starts with the "move" tab at the top of an article). Note that you don't have to fix links on other pages, only redirect targets that point to the old name. I don't think anyone will object to the name change. rudra (talk) 13:16, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] April 2008
Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently copied the contents of a page and pasted it into another with a different name. This is what we call a "cut and paste move", and it is very undesirable because it splits the article's history, which is needed for attribution and is helpful in many other ways. The mechanism we use for renaming an article is to move it to a new name which both preserves the page's history and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. In most cases, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. If there is an article that you cannot move yourself by this process, follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Requested moves to request the move by another. Also, if there are any other articles that you copied and pasted, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you.
