Churnin was born in 1983, on the 29th of May in Terrace British-Columbia, Canada. He has an older brother and sister. He lived there until he was 3 years old at which point his family moved to the oil town known as Fort McMurray in Alberta. His father was a school administrator at Westwood high school. His father later became the principal at Birchwood- a bilingual school. Here, churnin attended school until he was finished grade 5. At this point his family was relocated to Parksville, B.C. Churnin attended Parksville Middle School until he grade 8. In grade 8, the school was closed down and a new school was opened by the name of Springwood Middle School. During middle school, churnin started to play the trumpet- something he continued to play until finishing high school. In grade nine, churnin went to Ballenas Secondary School. He was an active member in many school groups such as the junior and senior boys soccer teams, the track team and the stage and concert bands. In grade 10, his mom died due to ovarian cancer. In the same year, he played Kinnickey in the musical "Grease". In grade 11, churnin joined the Adventure Tourism Career Preparation program. After graduating with a bilingual diploma in both of Canada's official languages, he traveled to Japan. In Japan, he went to Shibuya Makuhari Gakuen for five months. While he was there, he joined the Kendo Club. He returned to Canada prematurely to fulfill his aspirations to go attend university. Churnin attended the University of Alberta for 5 years and graduated in 2007 with a BSc with Specialization in Plant biology. Churnin currently resides in Japan in Ichihara city and is a NOVA teacher in the Kisarazu branch.
