Is there any reference for this pretended "sect" - it's location, it's main protagonists, its history, a link to an external site providing a more and better detailed account?

Take it to the "Talk page" muya? Why, because Wiki's divine right to slander and libel is being challenged? You are all a bunch of ignorant cowards! If you have guts put up the facts! facts! facts!
Except for the fact that Mel Gibson and his family are said to belong to this group, I can't find any real evidence on the Internet of its existence. But of course it probably doesn't call itself a "sect", and searching for "Holy Family Church" just gets tons of individual churches with that name. --Angr/(comhrá) 22:16, 2 Apr 2005 (UTC)
It apparently exists. Unless snopes, the New York Times, etc are all lying. Although it's elder is apparently secretive as he told Christopher Noxon he'd only be interviewed if "I not identify him or any member of the congregation." The priest of the place used to work at a San Gabriel Valley Church that's now SSPX. Or so he says. I don't find any SSPX chapels in San Gabriel Valley.--T. Anthony 05:47, 24 September 2005 (UTC)

Independent Catholic and Orthodox Bishops: See: Episcopi Vaganti

There are more than 300 independent Catholic and Orthodox churches in the United States; most governed by men and some by women who claim apostolic succession matching that of the Roman Catholic or the main-line Orthodox or Eastern Rite denominations. While their apostolic successions are generally beyond question, their faith and liturgical practices vary widely from the most radical and liberal practices and beliefs to the most conservative. These include the Society of Saint Pius X, The SSPV, the Mariavite Old Catholic Church, the Polish National Old Catholic Church, The Congregation of Mary, etc. Gibson's Holy Family Church and the new one he is helping to build are independents holding fast to the pre-Vatican II faith and liturgics of the Roman Catholic Church. They are a very "valid" church in every sense of the word even though they are not in "communion" with or under the jurisdiction of a Roman bishop. Karl Pruter's Directory of Independent Bishops lists a great number of valid bishops who have similiar congregations.
