What's his title? --iFaqeer 01:54, Sep 28, 2004 (UTC)

Added Ikemba Nnewi (copied from a Nigerian Newspaper) to his name.iFaqeer | Talk to me! 20:09, Oct 7, 2004 (UTC)

Ojukwu cannot be called a General because he was fired from the army. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zoldello (talkcontribs) 15:13, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] hometown

isn't it Umuahia, not Umuhia?iFaqeer | Talk to me! 20:02, Oct 7, 2004 (UTC)

The article is too cluttered with images. Perhaps we should remove some? Everyking 08:33, 11 Feb 2005 (UTC)

[edit] First Lady

I remember in 1970 reading a photo-history of the war, published by the Daily Times, showing a white woman and mixed-race boy emerging from a bunker, with the caption to the effect that they were Ojukwu's wife & child, abandoned in Biafra when he fled to the Ivory Coast. Anybody know anything about this?

[edit] Requested move

Since the person is best known by the name Emeka Ojukwu, the article should be moved there. The lead sentence acknowledges that he is best known by this name. Snocrates 09:33, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Looking through the alternatives in language box in the side bar, it looks like similar confusion prevails in many other Wikipedias, as to which name is optimal. Just running some searches in Google Books, it looks like Emeka Ojukwu is by far the most common English-language name. I support the change. DBaba (talk) 20:08, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
Ah actually maybe it's not as clearcut as I thought. A google search for Ojukwu lists his publications as being authored by "Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu". So the name may be correct as it stands... DBaba (talk) 20:17, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Would editors like to discuss this name-change further, or is there a consensus to leave the page where it is? I'm clearing the backlog at RM, and I'd like to close this request, one way or the other. -GTBacchus(talk) 00:37, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

His name seems to be appearing in the media lately as it stands. I suggest keeping it as is. DBaba (talk) 00:45, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Ok; I'm removing the listing from WP:RM then. If I can be of further assistance, please let me know. -GTBacchus(talk) 02:01, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
