Purpose of use

This image is intended for use within the orthography section of the article Chukchi language. It illustrates that Chukchi is indeed a written language, with published educational material. It also illustrates the L-WITH-HOOK character, which has recently become part of the unicode standard, but which is absent from most unicode fonts.

Replaceable?

Since the orthographic convention that this image is intended to illustrate only dates from 1996 there are no older images to illustrate it.

Other information According to the publisher's information, only 755 copies were printed, and so the book can be considered out of print and unobtainable. Use of this image in no way detracts from the commercial goals of the educational publisher Prosveshchenie.
