[edit] Plot

When the Hill family's regular seat in church is taken by a new family, the Hills leave their small Methodist Church and go on a search for a new parish to call home.

In the first church, an Evangelical or Pentecostal church held in a tent and led by (while apparently still trying to reform) Buck Strickland where most of the parishioners are drunk in the spirit and crazy for Jesus. The next one is most likely a Roman Catholic church in Spanish and the Hills are confused as to when to stand or kneel, as well as the language barrier. The third is a New Age/Progressive church made entirely of steel (attended by Donna) where the Hills go no further than opening the door and hearing "Day by Day" being strummed on the guitar. The fourth one is a MegaChurch, which the Hills stay with.

While getting coffee at the MegaChurch store, they see Reverend Stroup, the reverend of their previous church, where she is grabbing a cup of coffee, words are exchanged. The Reverend is shocked to see that the Hills are church shopping, and hopes that it isn't over the pew issue. They assure her that it is indeed the issue, first the Reverend wouldn't take Peggy's idea for microphoned sermons, now this. Reverend Stroup storms out, exclaiming that the new family has sat in their pew every week since their absence, and they sing, too.

The Hills take a trolley to the massive church, which they are impressed with at first. The Hills receive much attention and are given extra duties.

The coordinator then gives Hank a buzzer that goes off whenever there's an activity. When the buzzer rings, they call the church to find out about the activity.

After a while, when the buzzer is constantly going off for their help with the church, and activities every day, the Hills go to the MegaChurch to say how they prefer a smaller church.

They then go back to the old church and tell the family in their old seat about the MegaChurch. The family exits the church and the Hills get their old seat and church back.
