Chung-Gu
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The city of Chung-Gu (청구) was the second capital of Baedal. Baedal's 14th ruler, Chi-Woo Cheonwang, moved the capital from Shinshi to Chung-Gu, due to the easy access to the Huang He river valley. At the time of the transfer, Yoomang and several other tribal leaders in the Central Plains rebelled against Baedal, and challenged the new ruler. In response, Chi-Woo led an army into the Huang He region and defeated Yoomang and the Shennong kingdom. This event led directly to the 10-year war between the Huaxia and Baedal. After the reign of Chi-Woo, Baedal kept power for a few years before disintegrating. The fate of the city is not recorded after the fall of Baedal.
