Chula Chakrabongse

HRH Prince Chula Chakrabongse (March 28, 1908 - December 30, 1963) (Thai: พระเจ้าวรวงศ์เธอ พระองค์เจ้าจุลจักรพงษ์), was the only child of Prince Chakrabongse Bhuvanath of Thailand and his Russian aristocrat wife, Ekatrina Desnitskaya.
When very young, Chula was sent to school in Britain. He spent his teenage years in England and did not return to Siam until he was 23.
In 1938 he married an Englishwoman, Elizabeth Hunter. Their daughter, Mom Rajawongse Narisa, was born in 1956.
When Prince Chula's cousin Bira came to England in 1927, Chula was a supervising a racing team called White Mouse Racing. Prince Bira decided to drive for him.
In 1936 Chula's White Mouse team purchased an ERA for Bira, and he quickly became one of the leading exponents of this class of international racing. Bira's partnership with Prince Chula ended in late 1948.
Prince Chula was the author of several books, including a history of the Chakri dynasty, Lords of Life: The Paternal Monarchy of Bangkok, 1782-1932 and a biography entitled Dick Seaman - A Racing Champion.
Prince Chula died of cancer in 1963 at the age of 55.
