Chthonerpeton viviparum is a species of amphibian in the Caeciliidae family. It is endemic to Brazil. Its natural habitats are temperate forests, rivers, intermittent rivers, swamps, freshwater lakes, freshwater marshes, intermittent freshwater marches, pastureland, irrigated land, seasonally flooded agricultural land, and canals and ditches.
