User talk:Christian Mortensen

Hi Christian ... Re: Choice of username

My choice of username is a reflection of my real name. Dave Navarro is who I am. I chose to use it because I have no reason for anonimity. I am a 1963 graduate of Pioneer High School, Whittier, California.

Well the controversy is because there's a famous person named Dave Navarro. Usernames made after famous or well known people are usually disallowed per the established username policy. However taking into account the good faith error likely made here as well as special consideration on my part. I have decided to allow this username and let it slide. I will NOT block this account and will refrain from pursuing the matter any further. Happy Editing! Sincerely, --Christian Mortensen 00:40, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Grin. Well, thank you. I might add that I used to think that his being famous was a matter of taste, but judging from the emails I get asking if I am him he obviously has a large following. I contacted him once and reminded him that I am his elder.

[edit] Question

Hello, I was just curious about something. You just created an account yesterday, but you seem to have clear knowledge about Wikipedia editing. I hope you won't mind me asking, but have you participated under other accounts? If so, I would recommend mentioning them on your userpage. Thanks, --Elonka 01:27, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

I have Never used any other account during my short time here at Wikipedia if that's what you wanted to know. Just made this account yesterday. I am still learning and exploring a lot about Wikipedia. --Christian Mortensen 01:41, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Uh huh. And, the reason that you're adding welcome templates to the pages of nonexistent users? --Elonka 01:49, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
