[edit] WikiProject Agriculture

Hey, I'm glad to see you signed up for WikiProject Agriculture and even started editing the project page. I had been just sort of letting the project page set for a while as I monitored a few Ag pages (particularly Domestic pig, Domestic goat, Domestic goose and several of the underlying breed pages - also checking the wild animal pages sometimes to make sure they don't become "too domestic") and discussing WikiProject policy and guidelines. Now that there are a few members I'll try to put more effort into the project page as well. We can start using the discussion page there too. I was surprised to find no active projects in this broad topic, such that chickens is under the Wikipedia:WikiProject Birds (interestingly Wikipedia:WikiProject Food and drink hasn't picked that one up yet, though they have gotten some of the domestic mammals). I haven't tagged many talk pages yet with the banner, due to the sort of provisional nature of the project, but it's so broad and necessary we can probably go ahead and tag fairly liberally. Did you find it from one of the few banners I put out there?--Doug.(talk contribs) 04:19, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi Doug, I actually found this project, because I was contemplating starting it myself! I had seen it listed on the list of projects, and decided to join! I've been doing a few edits here and there, and am in the process of merging Oat milling oats, right now. I'll admit that I don't know too much about pigs, goats, and geese, though, I do know quite a bit about cattle, horses, crops, and the mechanics of farming (I also have access to quite a few specialists in this field, for references). I have also been adding the banner to the discuss page of any page I'm working on that it's relevant in. ChristianH158 13:34, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
